Corporate matches & volunteer grants
With corporate matching you can double or triple your donation! Through corporate volunteer grants, you can earn money for Helms by being an active volunteer. For example, Chevron and ConocoPhillips provide grants of $500 to organizations after employees volunteer at least 20 hours. With ExxonMobil, employees can team up to meet the 20 hour minimum time requirement for a $500 grant. Please check with your company’s HR department for more information. Gently used or new items
Helms accepts new or gently used books, outdoor toys, board games, gardening supplies, card games, painting supplies, & sports balls. Your gently used books will strengthen students’ reading skills by increasing their access to books at home. Gently used toys and games may be used for after school activities, outdoor play, or physical education.
Used Clothes and household items
Have old clothes or other household items to donate? Drop them off at our Green City Recycler (GCR) Pod. Helms receives $0.10/lb collected. GreenCityRecycler sorts the clothes, belts, shoes, books, toys, etc and redistributes them worldwide to places in the greatest need. Items too worn to wear are recycled into rags.
Our bright green GCR Pod is located at the exit of Helm’s main parking lot on 20th street.
